Career Change & Professional Reinvention | Workshop, Salah Abdeldayem
A structured workshop for people navigating a career transition, transferable skills, tested assumptions, and a realistic next step.
Career Change & Professional Reinvention
A structured way to think through a career change, identity, transferable skills, and real next steps, using the same decision-making lens, not generic "find your passion" coaching.
What this isn't: a job-search skills class. CV writing and interview coaching are useful but different, this workshop is about the decision itself, not the mechanics of executing on it.
Career transitions get treated as either a leap of faith or an identity crisis to be endured, both skip the actual work of figuring out what's transferable, what's driving the desire to change, and what the realistic next step is.
Who this is for
Professionals actively considering or navigating a career transition, a shift to a new field, a return after a break, a move from employment to independence, or a deliberate step back before deciding what's next.
The problem
"Just go for it" and "figure out your passion" both skip the actual decision-making work: separating what you want to leave from what you want to move toward, and testing assumptions before committing.
What you'll explore
Separating "I want to leave this" from "I want to move toward that"
Identifying genuinely transferable skills, not just job titles
Professional identity, what changes and what doesn't in a transition
Testing assumptions about a target field before committing to it
Realistic market conditions in the direction being considered
Sequencing: what needs to happen first, second, and only much later
What you'll take away
A clearer, tested sense of what's actually driving the desire to change, which skills genuinely transfer, and one concrete next step, not a full life plan.
Learning outcomes
Separate what they want to leave from what they want to move toward
Identify at least five genuinely transferable skills from their current role
Name one untested assumption about their target field and a way to test it
Distinguish a reversible exploratory step from a premature commitment
Sequence their next three moves realistically
Articulate their transition in one clear sentence, not a hedge

Best for
Practical exercises
Mapping current skills against a target field, honestly
A "leaving vs. moving toward" separation exercise
Testing one assumption about the target field with a real, small action
Sequencing a personal next-three-moves plan
Methodology
Individually focused even in a group setting, exercises use each participant's own situation; the facilitator role is closer to a structured-thinking partner than a career coach with answers.

FAQ
Does this include CV or interview coaching?
No, the focus stays on the decision itself; those are complementary skills covered elsewhere.
Is this only for people leaving a job entirely?
No, also useful for internal moves, returns after a break, or a considered pause.
What if I don't know what I want to move toward yet?
The workshop is built for exactly that stage, not just for people with a clear target already.
Is this suitable as a corporate offering?
Yes, particularly for outplacement, alumni programs, or internal mobility initiatives.
Reserve a seat, or bring this to your organization.

Language, Thinking & Self-Perception
An evidence-aware look at how language shapes attention, self-perception, and communication, practical and reflective, and explicit about where the science ends and the coaching tool begins.
Resilience & Self-Management
A developmental, professional look at pressure, setbacks, and self-management, not a mental-health treatment, and not "just stay positive."
Professional Positioning
Not personal branding: a look at how hiring managers, clients, and promotion committees actually judge value, and what follows from that for how you describe yourself.
