Balancing work and personal life: priorities and boundaries

When work takes over everything: signs, questions to reflect on, and how coaching helps clarify priorities and boundaries.

Study and work

Work eats into your evenings and weekends, and friends and family lose out. And when you are off, your mind is still at work.

How it can show up

  • You check your email even on holiday.
  • You often cancel plans because of work.
  • You can hardly say no when new tasks come in.
  • Exercise, sleep or hobbies are the first things to go.

Questions for you

There are no right answers. Take the question that stays with you.

  • What matters to you outside work so much that it deserves a fixed place?
  • Which tasks do you do that are not really yours?
  • What would happen if you left on time for once?
  • Which one boundary would you like to set this month?

Where coaching can help

Coaching helps you clarify priorities, negotiate boundaries at work and shape your everyday life so that it supports what matters to you.

When other help fits better

If you are constantly exhausted, sleep badly or feel empty inside, have it checked by a doctor. Lasting exhaustion needs more than better planning.

If it is too much right now

Coaching is not psychotherapy and not a crisis service. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact the emergency services where you are right away, or a crisis service near you.

Want to talk it through?
