Can't concentrate: always distracted, little done
You sit down to work and minutes later you're on your phone? How distraction shows up, questions to reflect on and where coaching can help.
You sit down to a task and a few minutes later you're somewhere else, in your head or on your phone. At the end of the day a lot happened, but little got finished.
How it can show up
- You read a paragraph several times without anything sticking.
- At every small pause you reach for your phone.
- You start several things at once and finish few.
- In the evening you hardly know where the day went.
Questions for you
There are no right answers. Take the question that stays with you.
- At what time of day can you concentrate best?
- What distracts you most often: thoughts, noise or your phone?
- Which one task would you like to get done tomorrow without interruption?
- What would need to change where you work to make that easier?
Where coaching can help
Coaching can help you clarify priorities, set up your routines and surroundings differently, and find out what keeps you on a task or pulls you away from it.
When other help fits better
If concentration problems have been there for a long time, affect many areas of life or suddenly get much worse, have them checked by a doctor. There can be physical or psychological causes behind them.
If it is too much right now
Coaching is not psychotherapy and not a crisis service. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact the emergency services where you are right away, or a crisis service near you.
