Coaching for Migrant Founders: From Idea to First Step

Have a business idea? Coaching for people with an international background: structure the idea, check what you bring, plan the first steps.

Coaching for self-employment

From business idea to first step

You have an idea and want to build something of your own, but you don't know where to start. In coaching you give your idea structure, check what you bring and plan what to do first.

Does this sound familiar?

I have an idea, but I don't know if it will work in Germany.

I had a business in my home country. Here I'm starting from zero.

I'm afraid of losing all my money.

I don't know who my customers should be.

I've been planning for months, but I don't start.

What we work on

Structuring the idea

What exactly do you offer, to whom, and why should someone buy from you in particular?

What you bring

What do you already have, what is still missing, and does self-employment fit your life, your family and how much pressure you can take?

Customers

How to present yourself and your offer, talk to customers and name a price without making yourself small.

Organising yourself

How to plan your time, tasks and energy so the idea becomes work you can keep up.

Risk and decisions

How much risk can you carry? We play through scenarios so that you make a deliberate decision.

The first steps

An action plan for the coming weeks: what to check, who to talk to and what to test on a small scale.

All prices are final prices. As a small business under § 19 (1) of the German VAT Act (UStG), I do not charge VAT. If you want support over several weeks, three or five sessions fit better, see the overview page. If your budget is limited, mention it openly in the intro call.

What this coaching is not

I don't give tax, legal or financial advice. I can support you in preparing your business plan, but the financial planning and the final version for a bank or funding body belong with specialists. The right places for that are a tax adviser, the start-up advice services of the chamber of commerce (IHK) or chamber of crafts, and the start-up centres in your city. Whether your residence permit allows you to be self-employed is something the immigration office or a legal adviser can clarify.

Coaching is about you: your idea, your decision and your next steps.

Frequently asked questions

Do you help with the business plan?

We can think through the content together: offer, target group, benefit, risks. The financial planning and a plan for a bank or funding body are something to do with a start-up adviser or tax adviser.

I don't have a concrete idea yet. Does this still make sense?

Then Startklar is too early. A single session for orientation fits better: we look at whether self-employment is the right route for you at all and which direction interests you.

Am I allowed to start a business with my residence permit?

I can't answer that; the immigration office or a legal adviser can. Ideally, clarify it before you invest any money.
